Local Service-Disabled Veteran-Owned Small Business Selected to Provide Innovative Crisis Intervention Training to Federal Law Enforcement
Buena Vista, Virginia— Becker Digital, a Service-Disabled Veteran-Owned Small Business (SDVOSB) headquartered in the Shenandoah Valley of Virginia, is proud to announce a recent contract award to provide Crisis Intervention Training (CIT) for the Department of Veterans Affairs (VA). This veteran-focused CIT initiative is the first of its kind and will be delivered to federal law enforcement officers across multiple states.
“As a veteran-owned and operated small business, we are honored to have the opportunity to continue a lifetime of service as a trusted industry partner to the VA. We are excited to utilize our specialized skills and veteran community insights to improve the quality of life for veterans,” said Jeremy Becker, CEO and Founder of Becker Digital. “The scope of this contract is aligned with our founding mission to support veterans and their families through all aspects of their post-military experience. Our team members are unwavering in their dedication to ensuring that veterans receive the compassionate, informed care they deserve. We are committed to making a positive impact and look forward to collaborating with the VA and other stakeholders in this vital initiative.”
Crisis Intervention Training (CIT) is a specialized program designed to equip law enforcement, mental health professionals, and community partners with the skills and knowledge needed to respond effectively to crisis situations. The primary objectives of CIT include enhancing officer safety, promoting well-being, and fostering collaboration among stakeholders within the local community. Outcomes of the program include improved crisis de-escalation, reduced use of force, and increased access to mental health services for veterans and their family members in crisis.
Becker Digital’s innovative veteran-focused CIT program is tailored to the modern veteran population, which spans five adult generations and multiple eras of military service. This CIT curriculum—developed by veterans for veterans—bridges the gap between law enforcement, healthcare providers, and the contemporary veteran community. This military-informed approach equips emergency responders with the skills and strategies needed to support positive outcomes for everyone involved in a crisis response.
“A core competency of Becker Digital’s CIT program is our military-connected team of retired service members, military spouses, and disabled veterans. Their lived experiences and subject matter expertise provide potentially life-saving insights that resonate with today’s veterans. This initiative provides actionable strategies for addressing service-connected disabilities, including Post-Traumatic Stress (PTS) and Traumatic Brain Injury (TBI). Additionally, it adopts a community-based approach to substance use disorders and veteran suicide prevention. Our team has been on the frontlines, and we are honored for the opportunity to enhance the quality of life for our nation’s heroes,” added Jeremy Becker, Becker Digital CEO.
