University Participation in SBIR/STTR Livestream

January 23, 2024 @ 10:00 am – 11:30 am
Hartman Hall Forum/2021 A-C, James Madison University Campus

Universities are often directly or indirectly involved in the development and execution of Small Business Innovation Research (SBIR) and Small Business Technology Transfer (STTR) projects, so it is important that university administrators understand SBIR/STTR requirements and that the small business understands the university’s policies. This session covers issues that need to be addressed both as the proposal is being developed and after it is awarded, looking specifically from the university’s perspective. An ideal session for university personnel as well as small businesses who intend to engage and partner with universities on an SBIR or STTR.

You’ll learn:

  • Eligibility rules for SBIR/STTR
  • Sub-contracting rules/limitations
  • University lab vs. Small business facilities
