United Way Day of Caring SBDC Team
The United Way of Harrisonburg and Rockingham County is hosting its annual Day of Caring on May 10, and this year your SV SBDC is getting involved with its very own team of volunteers. We are inviting and encouraging small business owners and employees to join our office in giving back to the community.
Our team will be volunteering at the Gift and Thrift in Harrisonburg. The Gift and Thrift has three divisions - Gift and Thrift, Booksavers of VA, and Artisan's Hope. Each of these divisions serve a unique purpose such as preservation and recycling, restoration of educational materials, and fair trade opportunities for underemployed people around the world. To learn more about this unique organization, visit their site.
The bigger the team, the bigger the impact we can make. We know that SMALL BUSINESSES MAKE AN IMPACT EVERY DAY. This is just one more way to show it!
Please consider signing up to help.
The day will begin with a breakfast and send-off celebration in Memorial Hall, where all teams will receive their complimentary "Live United" shirts. Teams will then disperse to their assigned locations to begin the projects.
The SBDC is not only excited to be a participant of this event, but we are proud to sponsor it, too. We look forward to shedding light on the difference small businesses can make when they come together.
