To compete in the increasingly competitive distribution space, alcohol producers need to hire, equip, and incentivize their sales teams intelligently. In this webinar, Virginia SBDC Craft Beverage Assistance Manager Chris Van Orden will ask Ben Lewellyn, Founder of craft beverage analytics firm Full Count, what tools and strategies are most effective for craft beverage producers looking to maximize their sales staff’s impact in the market.

SPEAKER: Ben Lewellyn has worked in craft beverages for more than a decade, focused primarily on building and improving wholesale sales operations (forecasting production, managing salespeople & distributors, selling to key accounts, and developing strategy). He started Full Count Analytics to help craft manufacturers make sense of their data through custom software solutions and individualized coaching. Originally from Alabama, Ben now lives with his wife and son in Charlottesville.

Entrepreneurship presents unique challenges to the decision making processes of the brain. A successful entrepreneur must be able to embrace challenges, learn from mistakes, view setbacks as opportunities and otherwise reframe difficult situations to maintain hopefulness and enthusiasm. In this conversation, we’ll explore the concept of a growth mindset from a neuroscientific perspective, drawing from research to create new strategies to build resilience and to make the most out of the thousands of decisions we make daily.

Dr. Catherine Franssen is the “Pumpkin Spice Neuroscientist” whose broad scientific training, innovative thinking, humor, and passion for informal education has led to hundreds of opportunities to share the science behind everyday life through blogs, social media, books, magazines, popular news outlets, and top academic journals. Experienced at delivering research-driven productivity and wellness workshops to major corporations based on 20 years of stress-related research. Passionate about communicating lessons from neuroscience to improve business strategies, career development, and personal wellbeing, Dr. Franssen has recently founded Franssen Strategies, LLC.

Participants will create a fairy garden using provided container, soil, gravel and two plants. The cost for the workshop is $20. Additional plants and embellishments will be available for an additional fee. Bring garden gloves and a trowel. The workshop will be held at Back Home on the Farm located at 3231 Willow Run Road in Harrisonburg. See the attached flyer for registration details.

MG volunteers will be at the Farmers Market every 1st and 3rd Saturdays from April through September. Consider volunteering!
