Join us for business over breakfast!  Each month we co-host a morning filled with business education and networking. This month's topic: IT Security

If you can get to the Internet, the Internet can get to you.
Did you know that 20% of small businesses fall victim to cyber-crime each year?  And that 60% of those will go out of business within 6 months of that attack?  Do you know how to protect your records, your employees, your customers, and your business? In this session, we'll learn about the latest threats as well as the solutions to prevent you from being part of the cyber-crime statistics. Today's presenters are Harry Reif and Tom Richardson.

Harry is an Associate Professor of Computer Information Systems at JMU and co-owner of The Wishing Well, a travel, floral boutique, and event planning concierge business in Harrisonburg.  He also serves as director of JMU's CyberCity Program, an award-winning technology program for high-schoolers and their teachers. Harry earned his PhD in Business Information Systems from Virginia Commonwealth University.

Tom is the Chief Technology Officer of Drawbridge Technologies of Harrisonburg. He has worked in the field of information security for nearly 20 years, earning his Ph.D. in the topic from Iowa State University. He has worked in almost every phase of commercial product development, including design, production, testing, and field support work for small start-ups, large commercial manufacturers, and government-sponsored research.
