This Business Smarts begins our summer series focusing on marketing for your business.

Good marketing decisions begin with good information, and we have some excellent resources right here in our region for accessing great information.

Join us to learn about three valuable tools:

Rockingham County utilizes Buxton SCOUT to access detailed information on buying habits of consumers that can help expand your customer base, reach target markets, and formulate marketing strategies.  The City of Harrisonburg uses the ESRI Business Analyst Online, a similar program for crunching enormous amounts of demographic data to assist you in your market-based decisions.  Last but not least, we'll learn about the print and on-line resources available to businesses from Massanutten Regional Library.  Join the panelists for explanations and demonstrations of these smart business tools.

Panelists:  John Meck, Development Manager, Rockingham County Department of Community Development; Ande Banks, Director of Special Projects & Grant Management, City of Harrisonburg; and Cheryl Griffith, Community Relations Manager, Massanutten Regional Library.

Business Smarts Breakfast sessions are held on the 2nd Friday of every month with networking opportunities and guest presentations on a variety of topics.

The series is sponsored by your Shenandoah Valley Small Business Development Center, the Harrisonburg-Rockingham Chamber of Commerce, and the Service Corps of Retired Executives (SCORE).  Breakfast is provided by The HoneyBaked Ham Company.
