Just in time for the new year - this workshop will help you build a successful long-term planning process, including the four key elements to successful planning. We'll discuss how to write a Mission Statement and explain why long-term plans often fail - and how to avoid such failure.

Presenter Joe Laughland is a retired FBI Supervisory Management Analyst (non-agent) who managed Strategic Planning in the FBI’s Criminal Justice Information Services Division (CJIS) for the last 10 years of his 32 years of FBI service.  CJIS is located in Clarksburg, WV and is the largest division in the FBI.  After retiring in 2006, Joe created Laughland Digital Products LLC, a small multimedia company.  In 2009, he joined SCORE’s Upper Mon Valley Chapter 537 in West Virginia.  In 2010, he moved to Harrisonburg but continued SCORE mentoring through emails and telephone.  He recently became the Finance Chairperson for JMU’s Lifelong Learning Institute, continuing his involvement in improving the local community.
