As the year comes to an end, will you be ready to "close the books" on 2015?

For many small businesses, getting into the accounting details and making sure your books are ready for year-end reports and taxes can be a time-consuming task that many tend to avoid.

In this session, we will review some of the common entries that accountants have to make when closing your books or filing tax returns.  If you manage your bank reconciliations, payroll and liability reports, and income and expense categorization / corrections now, you will be able to make better decisions and know how you are performing while you still have time to make adjustments. And you'll save time when working with an accountant.

Presenter Ashley Summers is a Certified Public Accountant and Tax Supervisor in the Harrisonburg offices of PBMares, LLP.  Her focus is on tax and business planning for closely held businesses and individuals.

Business Smarts Breakfasts are held on the 2nd Friday of every month with networking opportunities and guest presentations on a variety of topics.

The series is sponsored by your Shenandoah Valley Small Business Development Center and the Harrisonburg-Rockingham Chamber of Commerce.  Breakfast is provided by The HoneyBaked Ham Company.
