Pre-Venture/Start-up

We offer a variety of services (advice, training, resources) to meet your start-up needs. Our goal is to guide you toward sound decisions, achievable goals, and long-term success.  

  • You might start by attending one of Start-Up Q&A sessions, held every other week at the Massanutten Regional Library in Harrisonburg, where you can ask questions or explore ideas with one of our Small Business Advisors.
  • After attending a Q&A, you can make an appointment with one of our counselors to start a Business Planning Program, where we will help you
  • Examine feasibility issues: Is this the right business at the right time for you?
  • Conduct valuable market research on your product and your customer.
  • Prepare a business plan and cash flow projections to guide your own management and as required by lenders.
  • Set financial and profitability goals and the strategies to achieve them.
  • Explore additional resources and/or training as appropriate to your needs.
  • Review your progress periodically.
